Pole
Pole ranks among the oldest villages in the Blatná area. It is mentioned as early as 1228. The manorial farm at Pole developed from four peasant homesteads. The dominant feature of the village is a small manor house, which is unfortunately today in very poor condition. In the 17th century there was a chapel in the manor house, and there was also a garden by it. In 1669 a fruit tree nursery was established here — the first on the Lnáře estate. Pole also had a brewery; beer was brewed there only in the winter season, and production continued until 1859, when the brewery was closed. At the site of what is now Chmeličný pond there was formerly a hop garden. A small baroque chapel, which stands by the road from Pole to Kadov, was consecrated in the 18th century. Not far from the village there is also a monument dedicated to the memory of liberation by the American army. The mill at Pole by the pond has stood there since the 17th century.
